Originally released during an era of change and upheaval in the history of Four Roses, including the purchase of the Old Prentice distillery by Seagram’s (since repurchased by Japanese-based firm Kirin in the early 2000s), this discontinued 1999 bottling of Four Roses Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon is an extremely rare whiskey highly-coveted by Four Roses’ fans around the world. Initially marked for UK retail, this premium whiskey is composed of an undisclosed mash bill and is aged a minimum of 7 years in new charred American white oak to 86 proof, or 43% ABV. Released in limited quantities and hand-numbered the barrel number/bottling date, this collectible edition of 1999 Four Roses SB Bourbon is housed in an older style squat glass bottle and is estimated to have been distilled in the early 1990s. …
